OMG I've been so obsessed with my nails lately so I've decided to set up a blog just for it. Please visit my new blog and tell me what you think. I'm still thinking about crossposting here but I dunno. Let's see how we go.
It's 11:30. I just got home from a long day at work. Ate Elisa and I got really hungry bitching about the creeps at the office so we stopped over at Burjuman to stuff ourselves with sushi on a conveyor belt. We then headed down bank street to the computer plaza to have her computer guy re-install MS Office and increase the RAM in my semi-new laptop. I saved around AED900 (Php9000 or $245) by just replacing the memory to make it work faster rather than buying the model with the built in 2GB memory. I'm so glad!
You know what else I'm happy about? My friend Steve-o's back from Australia! Yey! Tomorrow I'm taking him with me to watch a movie with my Korean students. He'll be our test dummy to see how good their English listening skills are. I'm expecting him to say everything thrice. Haha! He's going to be a challenge coz he speaks the worst English accent. Can you imagine how an Italian Australian would sound? LOL! Kiddin, Steve.
Anyway, I do hope to finish doing my lessons by thursday night, and oh, my accounting too! I'm 3 months behind, oh Lordee. Then after that is Kuya Richard's birthday bash which is gonna be so much fun! Which reminds me - I haven't bought him a gift yet.
I'm also getting my hair cut on friday, if time permits. I'm gonna try that Chinese salon in Naif to get the kind of cut I want. I really don't have faith in the local salons coz the windows are all covered up you can't really see what's going on inside which is kind of freaky. I dunno. Coz I'm used to seeing salons that have glass windows so you can see what type of services they offer and if they really make their customers look pretty. You know, better safe than sorry.
I'm also starting to use the Whitening Kit my mama sent me. I remember now how much it stings. It's not very sunny now in Dubai, which helps because my face is peeling like I won't have anymore skin left. I hate this phase. Oh well... all for the sake of beauty...
Ok, gotta go rip my face off.

Currently feeling: exhausted
at work: when someone says "hi, how are you?" i say "I'm good" or "Hi, I'm fine". Then comes the usual slpit second eye contact and awkward pause that i couldn't help but get dismissive. Now, I know I'm supposed to say "I'm fine, how are you?" but i often find myself asking them to get to the point (I'm good. Yes, may I help you?)I dunno. I'm usually not up for small talk in the office because i'm forever in the middle of something. this happens quite often when someone interrupts me with a phonecall. Or maybe I'm just feeling ugly that day and I don't want people leering in front of my desk appreciating my appearance. it's a discreet way of saying, "get off my back." hay...
you knw what? I think dubai is starting to suck politeness out of my system... oh no! I gotta get outta here! lolz
guys, you have no idea how busy I am these days. I only have less than 8 hours to do my pile of work each day and my pseudo-boss tosses me more way before i even get to bottom. i'm drownin' - halp!!!! huhu
anyhoo...there's this new guy in the office. he's irish and he's got this way of saying his sentences like they end with a question mark. it's like that girl in american pie talking (one day?... at summer camp?...)but she's tall, burly, and got a hairy chest. haha! Kiddin'. But my ghad it's so contageous. i often catch myself doing it. it's the Batangeño accent of english, let's put it that way.
but hey, he's a nice guy. nicest guy in the office - next to our boss of course. let's see how far he goes when people start showing their ugly side. good luck to you, my friend. good luck.
